Acorns and Oaks Academy provides sound world class education that caters to pupils from ages 1 to 11. We understand that children learn in different ways and at different paces and we incorporate this into our teaching methods.

For our pupils aged 1 to 5, we use two curricula: the IPC Early Years and the Early Years Foundation Stage(EYFS). The EYFS curriculum encourages learning through play while the IPC Early Years is a precursor to the IPC that will be used in primary school. This makes school fun and interesting for our children. We also use portions of the Montessori Curriculum, which utilises specific materials that engage all the 5 senses to give a concrete understanding of what is being taught.

We ensure to infuse our rich cultural heritage into the teaching process in an effort to preserve and promote it through the review of current affairs, dance, and music.

Outside learning through play and excursions, is encouraged to give real world meaning to what our children have learned in class.

We understand that children learn best when they want to learn, which is why we use the International Primary Curriculum (IPC).The IPC is a comprehensive, thematic, creative curriculum with a clear process of learning. There are specific learning goals for every subject always keeping in mind international mindedness and personal learning. The IPC has been designed to not only provide rigorous learning, but also to help teachers make all learning exciting, active and meaningful to our children. Learning with the IPC takes a global approach: helping children to connect their learning to where they are living now as well as looking at learning from the perspective of their peers in other countries.

In line with our culture of continuous improvement, we constantly cross reference our curriculum with the British National Framework and the Nigerian Framework to ensure that our children get the very best. Our curriculum and teaching techniques are constantly reviewed to ensure a challenging but thoroughly enjoyable learning experience for our pupils.
